About us
When you first walk into Eastern Market’s Bert’s Marketplace, it looks like any other restaurant and bar. But go deeper and discover a hidden world of entertainment! 24,000 square feet of Detroit history housed in one building – murals on the walls, plaques spanning its past decorating every corner- it is more than just a regular restaurant; the place commemorates founder Mr. Dearing Jr.’s family legacy with stunning memorabilia throughout this unique venue that feels part amusement park & part museum. Unbelievably this was my first time going to Bert's! I've always heard that the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming but I just never got a chance to see for myself.I like it! The people seem very relaxed and friendly which made for a great experience. I went on a Sunday which probably why they closed at 10pm but nevertheless I had a good time. I'll definitely be back!

Great BBQ and service on a Tuesday. Chill scene with jazz music and art. Ribs were yummy with the side of Mac and cheese/String beans. Worth the visit if you have never been.
